Magnetic brake adjustment with mounting plate
Check electromagnetic brake (Y1) with
mounting plate
The installation of the magnet brake (Y1) is illu-
strated with the mounting plate (1).
– Bolt the magnet coil (3) with the brake disk (9)
onto the mounting plate (1) by using three
mounting screws (refer to page 113, item 3).
– Measure brake air gap (7) with the feeler gau-
ge (5). The brake air gap (7) must equal
0.3 mm - 0.8 mm when installed, measured 3
times at the circumference.
Set the electromagnetic brake (Y1) with the
mounting plate
If the installed brake air gap (7) does not measu-
re 0.3 mm - 0.8 mm (0.012 in – 0.032 in), the
brake air gap (7) must be set as follows:
– Release three mounting screws (refer to page
113, item 3) by using the Allen wrench (2).
– Screw the sleeve screws (8) in or out accor-
dingly by using the wrench (6).
– Tighten the mounting screws (refer to page
113, item 3) and measure the brake air gap (7)
with the feeler gauge (5) to determine if the
specified gap dimension has been achieved.
– Repeat the adjustment process until the brake
air gap (7) has reached the specified gap width.
– Remove magnet coil (3) with brake disk (9)
from the mounting plate and install in the ma-
gnet brake mount on the transmission (refer to
page 113, item 7).
Note:
The brake must securely hold the device at
a max. load on a grade of 15%. If the brake
effect diminishes despite an accurate setting
of the magnet brake, the brake disk (9) must
be replaced and the function of the brake
must be checked.
