5.4.7 Magnet brake (Y1)
Electromagnetic brake (Y1)
Set freewheeling lever (4)
Remove and check the electromagnetic
brake (Y1)
The electromagnetic brake (1) is correctly adju-
sted in the factory. Depending on the load and
operating time, it may be necessary to readjust
the brake.
– Secure the machine against rolling away.
– Remove the retaining screws (3) and pull off
the electromagnetic brake (2).

Note:
The brake disc (8) is 10.3 mm (0.406 in)
thick. The thickness must not fall below the
lower worn dimension of 7.5 mm (0.296 in),
in this case the brake disc (8) must be
replaced.
Before installing the brake disc (8) degrease
the brake lining (e.g. using a brake cleaner)
– Fasten the electromagnetic brake (2) with the
screws (3).
– Check the brake (see page 114).
Wheel hub motor with electromagnetic brake (Y1)
Check and set the freewheeling lever (M1)
– The brake air gap (12) must equal 1.0 mm
(0.039 in) when removed, measured 3 times at
the circumference.
– The adjustment is performed via the two moun-
ting screws (5) of the freewheeling lever (4).
– In conclusion, also perform the brake adjust-
ment with the mounting plate and a brake test
(refer to page 114).
