Securing the truck during transport
3.1
Basic truck transport retainer
WARNING!
Accidental movement during transport
Improper fastening of the truck and mast during transport can result in serious
accidents.
u
Loading must only be performed by specialist personnel trained for this purpose.
The specialist personnel must be instructed in securing loads on road vehicles and
handling load securing devices. In each case correct measurements must be
taken and appropriate safety measures applied.

The truck must be securely fastened when transported on a lorry or a trailer.
u
The lorry or trailer must have fastening rings.
u
Use wedges to prevent the truck from moving.
u
Use only fastening belts with sufficient strength.
u
Use non-slip materials to securing the load aids (pallet, wedges, ...) e. g. non-slip
mats.

Securing the basic truck for transportation
Requirements
– Dismantle the mast. The mast can only be disassembled by the manufacturer's
specialist customer service personnel who have been trained to do this.
Exceptionally, this task may be performed by a customer service organisation
authorised by the manufacturer.
– Disconnect the battery if this is also contained in the truck.
– Disassemble the tilt safety mechanism.
– Load the basic truck correctly onto the lorry / trailer.
Tools and Material Required
– Tie-down straps / tensioning belts with a rated strength of > 5 t..
– Two hard wooden blocks with identical dimensions and composition.
– Two identical wedges.
