SECTION 1 - OPTIVIEW RETROFIT KIT CONTROL CENTER INTRODUCTION
The graphic display allows information to be repre-
sented in both English units and Metric units, as de-
sired by operating personnel.
The OptiView Control Center continually monitors the
system operation and records the cause of any shut-
downs (Safety, Cycling or Normal). This information
is recorded in memory and is preserved even through a
power failure condition. The operator may recall chiller
shutdown information for viewing at any time. During
operation, the user is continually advised of the operat-
ing conditions by various status and warning messages.
In addition, the OptiView may be configured to notify
the user of certain conditions via alarms. A complete
listing of shutdown, status, and warning messages is
attached in the “Control Panel Display Messages” sec-
tion of this book.
Parameters that affect chiller operation
characteristics should never be modified
by anyone other than a qualified service
technician. These parameters are shown
in this manual for service technician
reference only.
There are certain screens, displayed values, program-
mable setpoints and manual control shown in this book
that are for service technician use only. These screens
are only displayed when logged in at “Service” access
level or higher. The setpoints and parameters displayed
on these screens are explained in detail in
OPTIVIEW
CONTROL CENTER RETROFIT KIT - TRANE SER-
VICE MANUAL (FORM 160.10-M1).
Advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting informa-
tion for service technicians are included in
OPTIVIEW
CONTROL CENTER RETROFIT KIT - TRANE SER-
VICE MANUAL (FORM 160.10-M1).
Also included in
the Service manual are detailed descriptions of chiller
features, setup, operations, pre-rotation vane calibra-
tion, Smart Freeze, optional hot gas bypass, etc.
OPERATING SOFTWARE
The chiller operating program resides in the Opti-
View control center Microboard. The OptiView con-
trol center is equipped with either of the following
Microboards:
• 031-02430-000 – Later model microboard. The
operating program resides in non-removable
onboard memory. The software version is C.OPT.
yy.zz, and is viewable on the Diagnostics screen
in “Service” access level. The program can be
upgraded by downloading a new program from a
program card. Program cards are shirt-pocket-size
portable memory storage devices available from
YORK.
• 031-03630-000 - The current model of microboard.
The operating program resides in non-removeable
on board memory. The software version is C.OPT.
yy.zz and is viewable on the Diagnostics screen
in “Service” access level or higher. The program
can be upgraded by downloading a new program
from a program card. Program cards are “SD”
style cards available from York Parts.
Software versions (C.OPT.yy.zz) are alpha-numeric
codes that represent the application and revision levels
as shown below. The revision level increments for each
controls software revision.
• C – Commercial chiller
• OPT – Used on Microboard 031-02430-000 and
031-03630-000
• yy – Chiller Manufacturer (08 Trane, 09 Carrier)
• zz – controls revision level (00, 01, etc)
From this point on, both microboards receive the same
software updates at each revision. Software updates
should only be performed by a qualified service tech-
nician.
