SECTION 3 - OPTIVIEW DISPLAY MESSAGES
or 49 to 51 Hz (50 Hz). While this condition exists,
all harmonic filter related parameters are displayed as
X’s. This message automatically clears when the line
frequency is within range.
Warning – Surge Protection –
Excess Surge Limit
(Applies only if surge protection EXTENDED RUN
feature is enabled)
If the optional hot gas bypass feature is
enabled, the valve position must be at
100% before “Extended Run” is imple-
mented. If the chiller is equipped with a
VSD, the output frequency must be at full
speed (50 Hz/60 Hz) before this control
can be implemented.
Displayed during the surge protection ten (10) min-
ute extended run period. This period begins when the
SURGE WINDOW COUNT exceeds the COUNT
LIMIT. During this period, the pre-rotation vanes are
driven closed. When the ten minutes elapse, this mes-
sage and the pre-rotation vanes load inhibit are auto-
matically cleared. The warning message and load in-
hibit are also cleared when the chiller is shutdown.
Warning – Purge – High Pressure
(Turboguard Ii Units Only)
With the chiller running, the purge pressure increased
above the high pressure limit (95.0 PSIA, high effi-
ciency TGII purge units) continuously for four (4) min-
utes. This message is displayed until purge pressure de-
creases below the high pressure limit or the chiller is
stopped and the WARNING RESET key is pressed on
the Home screen. This warning will not be displayed
if the
PURGE FLOAT SWITCH ERROR
warning
is triggered.
Warning – Purge – Canister #1 Full
This message is triggered when the purge canister
alarm output increases to 2.20V or above, indicating
the canister has reached full capacity. The canister
must be replaced following instructions on label inside
purge panel door. This message will be displayed until
the alarm signal is 0.90 VDC or below and the WARN-
ING RESET key is pressed on the Home screen.
Warning – Purge – Float Switch
Error (Turboguard II Units Only)
This message is displayed while the chiller is running
and the purge float switches are in invalid states. Typi-
cally, this is caused by the bottom float switch being in
the closed position and the top float switch in the open
position, indicating the oil level is simultaneously be-
low the bottom switch and above the top switch. This
message will be displayed until the float switches are
indicating valid positions (or the chiller is not running)
and the WARNING RESET key is pressed on the Home
screen. While this message is displayed, the purge oil
solenoid valve is de-energized, draining the purge tank.
Warning – Excess Purge
(Turboguard II Units Only)
The purge EXHAUST COUNT has equaled the pro-
grammed MAXIMUM PURGES PER HOUR set-
point. Purge operation continues while this message
is displayed, but the exhaust count is not incremented.
Clearing this message resets the exhaust count and
exhaust window. If the chiller is running, the exhaust
window will then increment from 0 to 60 minutes and
the exhaust count will increment as exhausts occur.
This message will be displayed until the WARNING
RESET key is pressed on the Home screen.
Warning – External I/O – Serial
Communications
This message indicates serial data communications be-
tween the microboard and analog I/O board have been
interrupted for longer than twenty (20) seconds.
ROUTINE SHUTDOWN MESSAGES
Remote Stop
This message indicates that a STOP command has
been received from a remote device. Remote stop
commands can be received in digital remote mode via
I/O Board TB4-7/8 or in ISN (Integrated Systems Net-
work) remote mode via the MicroGateway serial com-
munications. If the chiller is running when this occurs,
the pre-rotation vanes are driven fully closed prior to
shutdown.
Local Stop
A local STOP command has been received, indicating
the compressor switch in the
STOP/RESET (O)
posi-
tion.
