SECTION 2 - OPTIVIEW OPERATION
(Motor Winding Temperature) Sensor 1
Phase A, B, C
This readout displays the temperature of the motor
windings as calculated from sensor 1 of each winding.
This will only be displayed if analog input is enabled
for sensor 1 and the current phase sensor (Phase A, B,
or C) is switched on.
(Motor Winding Temperature) Sensor 2
Phase A, B, C
This readout displays the temperature of the motor
phase windings as calculated from sensor 2 of each
winding. This will only be displayed if analog input
is enabled for sensor 2 and the current phase sensor
(Phase A, B, or C) is switched on. Trane chillers do not
utilize sensor 2.
Bearing Sensor 1 and 2
The temperature for the motor bearings are displayed
in this readout. These will only be displayed if the ana-
log input is enabled for each bearing temperature.
Bearing sensors are optional for Trane chillers and may
or may not be installed for the OptiView Retrofit Kit.
Sensor 1 represents the outboard (motor) bearing tem-
perature and Sensor 2 represents the inboard (compres-
sor) bearing temperature.
PROGRAMMABLE
Winding Sensor Mode
Access Level Required: SERVICE
This setting allows the type of winding sensor input
to be selected (digital, analog, analog and digital). The
user may also select NONE if there is no input avail-
able.
Winding Cutout
Access Level Required: SERVICE
This setting adjusts the maximum temperature the
chiller motor can operate to until a fault is triggered
and the chiller is stopped. This will not be displayed if
the winding sensor mode is set at NONE.
Bearing Sensor Mode
Access Level Required: SERVICE
The type of bearing sensor input is selected from this
setting (digital, analog, analog and digital). The user
may also select NONE if there is no input available.
Bearing Cutout
Access Level Required: SERVICE
This setting adjusts the maximum motor bearing tem-
perature the chiller motor can operate until a fault is
triggered and the chiller is shutdown. This will not be
displayed if the winding sensor mode is set at NONE.
Motor Cooling Pump (Enabled/Disabled)
Access Level Required: SERVICE
This setting selects whether the motor cooling pump is
enabled or disabled, as the chiller is equipped.
Cooling Pump Mode (Auto/Manual)
Access Level Required: SERVICE
Cooling Pump Mode is displayed only when the motor
cooling pump is enabled and allows automatic or man-
ual cooling pump control to be selected. When “Auto”
mode is selected, the motor cooling pump will operate
whenever the cooling pump thermostat is closed. When
“Manual” mode is selected, the cooling pump will oper-
ate for a period of ten (10) minutes and then deactivate.
Phase A, B, C (Motor Winding Sensor)
Access Level Required: SERVICE
These buttons allow the user to select the active tem-
perature sensor inputs for each phase of the motor
windings. The active sensors are displayed inside the
screen key for each phase.
Bearing (Temperature Sensor)
Access Level Required: SERVICE
These buttons allow the user to select the active bearing
sensor inputs. The active sensor inputs are displayed
inside the screen key.
Motor Cooling Pump Setpoint
Access Level Required: SERVICE
This programmable setpoint triggers the motor cool-
ing pump to be commanded on when any of the motor
winding temperatures exceed this setpoint.
Minimum Run Time Limit
Access Level Required: SERVICE
This setpoint is the minimum run time once the motor
cooling pump has been commanded on.
