7.- Machine cleaning and maintenance.
Health and safety regulations require operators of automatic dispensers to assume
responsibility for cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining the machines. It is essential to
follow cleaning and disinfection instructions for those parts of the machine which are in
contact with the machine, to guarantee the products’ hygienic conditions and prevent
the formation of bacteria.
As mentioned previously, when the machine is first set up, the machine’s water circuits
and those parts which are in contact with the product, such as the soluble and sugar
containers and the coffee assembly, need to be thoroughly disinfected. This ensures
that any bacteria which might have developed during storage will be eliminated.
it is also essential to carry out a strict periodic cleaning and disinfection to ensure
compliance with health regulations and to ensure the machine works properly. In
general, the cleaning and disinfection intervals indicated in this manual should be
followed. However, the machine’s working conditions, such as water hardness, ambient
temperature, humidity, etc. may advise more frequent cleaning.
The maintenance operations described below do not include all such operations
necessary for complete machine maintenance. Certain maintenance work will have to
be carried out by qualified technical personnel.
Cleaning operations should be carried out with the machine turned off.
