Database Lookup Definition - Global Setting
In order for the Marksman Matrix or Elite to go to a customer’s database for task name
information, it is necessary to first globally define where that location will reside. Prior to the
Database Start setup, an ODBC connection to the customer’s database must be made with
a unique Data Source Name (DSN). To instruct the Controller where this data will reside,
the details must be entered on the new menu option

.
First, click the
Select
button to select the DSN entry to use when utilizing the database
start routine.
Each of the available tables (or sheets) will be available based on the DSN entry. Select the
appropriate table for use.
Next, choose the field that will be utilized for the Key field - to identify the record in which
the task name will be found.
Finally, choose the field where the task name is located.
A sample table is shown below for reference (based on input above).
