923 milliK manual - issue: 1.10
8.6.12
Command SENSe:RESistance:WIRes
Format: SENSe:RESistance:WIRes
<wires>
Determines whether the next resistance measurement will be made using 3 or 4-wire
resistance measurement technique (see section 3.1.3 for details on 3 and 4-wire
measurements). The parameter
<wires>
must be 3 or 4, otherwise the command will be
ignored.
Example: to select 3-wire measurement for the next resistance measurement, use :
SENS:RES:WIR 3
.
8.6.13
Command SENSe:RESistance:WIRes?
Format: SENSe:RESistance:WIRes?
Reports whether 3 or 4-wire measurement is selected for the next resistance measurement.
Example: a milliK that has been set to make a 4-wire resistance measurement will respond to
the command:
SENS:RES:WIR?
with: “4”.
8.6.14
Command SENSe:CURRent
Format: SENSe:CURRent
<current>
Determines whether the normal (1mA) or root2 (1.4mA) current is used for the next
resistance measurement on a PRT/SPRT. Changing the current to root2 allows the self
heating effect to be determined for a PRT/SPRT (see section 3.1.2 for details). This command
affects the sense current used to measure PRTs/SPRTs (115
Ω
and 460
Ω
ranges), it does not
affect the sense current used to measured thermistors (fixed at 2µA). The current is not
changed until a measurement is started using with either the INITiate or READ? commands.
The parameter
<current>
may be NORMal or ROOT2, the command will be ignored if any
other parameter is used.
Example: to set the sense current for the next resistance measurement to the normal current
(1mA) use:
SENS:CURR NORM
