3. Select the appropriate Scanner Test Card:
•
For configuration 1555EXX01XX00XX, use the High Performance Test Card
(P/N 071802-006).
•
For configuration 1555EXX02XX02XX, use the Long Range Test Card
(P/N 071802-002).
4. Position the 1555 at the appropriate distance from the Scanner Test Card as listed
below:
•
For configuration 1555EXX01XX00XX, position the scanner window 86.0 cm
± 2.0 cm (33.75 in ± 0.75 in) from the Scanner Test Card.
•
For configuration 1555EXX02XX02XX, position the scanner window 197.0 cm
± 2.0 cm (77.75 in ± 0.75 in) from the Scanner Test Card.

5. Be sure the 1555 is positioned directly in front of and at the correct distance from
the Scanner Test Card. Scan the “FAR” bar code label 4 times. Do not scan the bar
code label at an exact 90-degree angle, as the scanner beam may reflect directly
back into the 1555 and prevent the 1555 from reading the label.
The 1555 passes this part of the test if it successfully reads the code at least 3 of the
4 tries. The 1555 fails this part of the test if it successfully reads the code only once
or not at all in four tries.
