7. Lateral chest restraint
There are various options available for the ERGOLINE� Each seat shell must have
a basic restraint system� Please see section
3

1
Chest belt with flap
The chest belt with flap has been mounted in the proper position during adjust-
ment of the seat shell� It is possible to perform minor adjustments to the length
using the hook and loop fastener�
To open the belt, proceed as follows:
Pull upwards on the front flap�
Then pull the overlapping ends of the chest belt apart�
You can then lay the two ends of the chest belt aside and remove the pa-
tient from the seat shell, as necessary�
Repeat these steps in reverse order when applying the belt to secure the
patient in the seat shell�
When applying the belt, check to ensure that it is not constricting the pa-
tient; this is especially important to ensure that the patient’s breathing is
not adversely affected�

Chest belt with deflection roller
The chest belt with deflection roller has been mounted in the proper position
during adjustment of the seat shell� It is possible to perform minor adjustments
to the length using the hook and loop fastener�
To open the belt, proceed as follows:
Pull the overlapping ends of the chest belt apart�
Pull the loose end of the chest belt through the metal loop�
You can then lay the two ends of the chest belt aside and remove the pa-
tient from the seat shell, as necessary�
Repeat these steps in reverse order when applying the belt to secure the
patient in the seat shell�

Reclining supports
The reclining supports have been built into the postural side supports during pro-
duction of the seat shell� You can adjust them by adjusting the distance between
the two front “wings”, i�e� the length of the connecting belt strap�
