and that the patient is not sitting on them� In addition, check to ensure that
no hard objects are in the seat shell that could cause discomfort to the
patient�
The patient’s pelvis should be as far back in the seat shell as possible� This
is the only way to ensure optimal restraint and support�
Always work from the patient’s pelvis outwards when placing additional re-
straints� Do not proceed with positioning and restraining the torso and ex-
tremities, where applicable, until the pelvis has been optimally restrained�

The options for restraining the patient’s body in the seat shell include:

Chest harness
The chest harness is used to restrain the patient’s entire upper body� The

tions below describe how to secure the chest harness�
Important:
Always adjust the chest harness, working from the hard back of the
shell outwards and using the

tighteners located there�
Restraining the patient in the seat shell
Preparation:
Place the patient in the seat shell and lay the chest harness over
the back edge of the shell�
To restrain the patient, proceed as follows:
Lay the chest harness forward with each of the two shoulder straps on
either side of the patient’s head�
The lower end of the chest harness is equipped with two tighteners for
fastening the straps�
Open the flap on one of the black strap tighteners�
Take one of the straps that is sticking out between the seat cushion and the
back cushion and insert it into the corresponding slot between the moving
flap and the fixed part�
Pull the strap as far as it will go�
