TRANSPORT / TRANSPORT LOCK / CLIMBING STAIRS
8. Transport / Transport lock / Climbing stairs
The tested and approved wheelchair and occupant restraint system (AMF-Bruns
art. no.
75020
) is the only system to be used for the transport of the AKTIVLINE
basic model in vehicles for the transportation of the disabled. An additional
4
-point restraint system (AMF-Bruns art. no.
75021
) is required for transport in
motor vehicles. This brings the AKTIVLINE basic model into compliance with the
specifications of DIN
75078
. Please see the separate manufacturer‘s instructions
on how to properly mount the force application point system in your respective
vehicle.
Note:
Never secure the transport lock to the frame or the back of the AKTIVLINE
basic model!
Climbing stairs:
Negotiating stairs or high curbs is only to be done with the as-
sistance of
2
accompanying persons. The assistants are only permitted to grasp
the front frame tube and the back brace without lifting or carrying the AKTIVLINE
basic model. The anti-tipping device must be retracted and secured. When as-
cending, the assistant behind the AKTIVLINE basic model pulls the wheelchair
up the stairs. The assistant in front of the AKTIVLINE basic model stabilizes the
position by applying equal support to both sides of the wheelchair on the stairs.
When descending, the assistant in front of the AKTIVLINE basic model brakes
by applying equal support on the stairs. The assistant behind the AKTIVLINE
basic model holds the back brace, stabilizes it, and maintains the wheelchair in
the correct position. Slowly roll the AKTIVLINE basic model over stairs in order
to prevent tire damage.
