or down, as necessary, on the centered oval tubing of the leg rest system. Then
re-engage the clamping lever after the adjustment is complete.

Push bar
The AKTIVLINE basic model push bar has two adjustment options to provide
for comfortable pushing.
1
. First, adjust the height of the push bar by opening the quick-release fasteners
on the back frame of the AKTIVLINE basic model; then disengage the locking
spring by gently applying pressure with your thumb and adjust the push bar
to the desired height. Close the quick-release fasteners to lock the push bar
in the desired position.
2
. In addition to the height of the push bar, the angle of the top section of the push
bar can also be adjusted using the two ratchet joints on the push bar. To do
so, loosen the two clamping levers on the ratchet joints until the inclination is
able to be adjusted without difficulty. When re-tightening the clamping levers
do not forget to check to ensure that the ratcheting elements are engaging
properly in order to provide a secure connection. Otherwise, the ratchet joint
could slip, causing unnecessary wear.

Activating the parking brake
In order to activate the parking brake, proceed as follows:
1
. Engage both brake handles on the push bar. Make sure that the brake handle
does not return to the starting position (locking mechanism will click audibly
into place); otherwise the parking brake has not been activated.
2
. Check to make sure that the brake is indeed activated by attempting to push
the AKTIVLINE basic model.
Attention:
If the braking action is not sufficient, then have the brakes readjusted
by your medical supplies dealer or readjust them yourself, as described in Sec-
tion
