Tilt-in-space mechanism
The AKTIVLINE basic model undercarriage comes equipped with a mechanism,
which enables the inclination of the seat shell to be individually adjusted within a
certain range. Depending on the equipment it is possible to continuously adjust
the seat inclination by up to
30
°. If you want to reverse the inclination of the seat,
the gas-pressure spring will support you in doing so.
Observe the following instructions for using the tilt-in-space mechanism:
1
. Pull the two small release levers on the push bar. Then recline the shell sys-
tem into the desired position and let go of the release levers. The seat shell
system is now locked in the selected inclined position. If the shell doesn‘t
immediately recline into the desired position, then apply gentle pressure to
the push bar. In order to lock the shell in place make sure that the release
lever is fully returned to the starting position.
2
. Reactivate the release lever to unlock the tilt-in-space mechanism. The shell
system can now be returned to the upright position with the support of the
two gas-pressure springs.

Restraint system
The pelvic restraint is usually bolted to the shell on the patient‘s right side. A
buckle is located to the patient‘s left, which enables pressure to be applied to
the pelvis, as desired and/or tolerated.
Please observe the following instructions when using the pelvic restraint:
When applying the pelvic restraint the patient must be seated as far back as
possible in the shell, i.e. the patient‘s pelvis must be in contact with the back
of the seat shell. In order to ensure that the patient is in this position it may be
helpful to recline the seat shell using the undercarriage tilt-in-space mechanism
(see section on tilt-in-space mechanism) until the patient is comfortably in the
desired position.
Please observe the following instructions when using a pelvic band:
The pelvic band pressure pads must support the spine (both the superior and
anterior iliac spine). Make sure that the pelvic band pressure pads do not put
pressure on the abdomen or other soft tissue regions! Thread the fastening
strap through the buckle on the pelvic band and tighten it until the patient is
securely seated in the prescribed position (pelvis against the back of the shell).
If this makes the patient uncomfortable, then loosen the pelvic band somewhat.
Keep in mind, however, that the shell can only be opened easily if the pelvis is
in constant contact with the pelvic restraint. It may be necessary to gradually
