Readjusting the parking brake
Tool:
Open-ended wrench / size

Requirement:
Insufficient braking performance of the parking brake; AKTIVLINE
basic model is able to be pushed even though the parking brake is fully engaged.
In order to readjust the parking brake, proceed as follows:
1
. Make sure that the parking brake is not engaged; release the parking brake,
if necessary.
2
. The Bowden cables on the parking brake are threaded through an adjusting
screw in front of the brake anchor plates, enabling the braking action to be
adjusted.
3
. By turning this screw counterclockwise the brake cable is tightened, which
activates the brake. The adjusting screw is then secured with a nut.
4
. Before adjusting the brake, loosen the locknut by turning it counterclockwise
(a size
6
open-ended wrench may be necessary here, depending on the model).
5
. Then turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until the wheel becomes
noticeably more difficult to turn. To determine this, lift one side of the AK-
TIVLINE basic model with one hand and turn the wheel with the other hand.
6
. Then turn the adjusting screw clockwise until the wheel to be adjusted turns
freely.
7
. Turn the lock nut clockwise on the thread of adjusting screw until it is tight.
8
. Repeat this procedure on the other wheel, as necessary.

Rear wheels
The rear wheels on the AKTIVLINE basic model come equipped with floating
axles. This enables the easy removal of the wheels if there is a problem with the
tires, for example if a tube needs to be replaced.
In order to remove/attach the rear wheels, proceed as follows:
1
. Press the release button at the center of the wheel hub and hold it down to
release the floating axle locking mechanism and remove the wheel by pulling
it out of the wheel receptacle.
