Replacing the System Battery
The battery on the server board powers the Real Time Clock for up to 10 years in the absence of power.
When the battery starts to weaken, it loses voltage, and stored server settings and system clock and date
settings maybe lost.

Contact your customer service representative or dealer for a list of approved devices.
Warning:
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type
recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Discard used batteries according to manufacturer's
instructions.

•
Locate the battery on the server board.
•
Gently press the metal clip as shown to release the battery (see letter “A”).
•
Remove the battery from the plastic socket (see letter “B”).

Dispose of the battery according to local ordinance.
•
Remove the new lithium battery from its package, and, being careful to observe the correct polarity,
insert it in to the battery socket.
Note: The <F2> BIOS Setup Utility must be accessed and setting must be set and saved to restore configuration settings
