8.11. Controlling direct online printing
Online printing can be started by pressing the
button while the device is in monitoring
mode. Printing will be initialized with the settings corresponding to those displayed on the
screen (number of leads, lead group, sensitivity, sweep speed).
Attention!
If there is a limb lead attachment error when online printing is initialized, printing will not start,
and a “Check the electrodes” notification will appear.
If the ECG signal is too noisy during printing (black paper is printed), printing will stop after a
few seconds.
Stopping the printing:
Pressing the
button again (or pressing the
button) displays a “
PreStop
” message
on the top left corner of the display. This signals that the device has registered the command
to stop printing, and that it will stop printing at the end of the current page. If the user wishes
to print a single-page ECG record, the
button can be pressed immediately after the
printing has begun, and this will stop the printing when the end of the page is reached. If the
user wishes to print a two-page record, the
button can be pressed at any time while the
second page is being printed. The same system applies for any number of pages.
This method is useful for good paper utilization.
If the
button is been pressed towards the end of the page, the printing might continue
until the end of the following page. Therefore, it is advised to stop the printing as soon as
possible after the final desired page starts printing.
To stop printing before the end of the page is reached (e.g. in case of a low sweep speed),
press the
button one more time after the ”
PreStop
” notification appears. The device will
immediately stop printing and roll the paper out until the page boundary.
Even if it is not stopped manually, online printing will stop when a technical limit is reached –
–
depending on the number of leads being printed, paper speed, ECG signal. This can
especially be the case with 50 mm/s printing.
Attention!
After pressing the
or
button, printing may start with a 1–2 second delay. A message (e.g.
“Printing: 12ch”) appearing at the top left corner of the screen signals that printing will start soon.
The number represents the number of channels to be printed.
After printing is complete, the device rolls the paper out until the beginning of the next page.
