Using CAN for I/O Expansion (Network I/O)
Connecting remote I/O to the
i
³C Lite CAN port allows the
i
³C Lite I/O to be economically expanded
and distributed. A variety of remote I/O modules is available for this purpose.

CAN and Termination and Bias
If there is a controller-to-controller communication on a network, and an
i
³C Lite will be at either
end, then it is recommended that onboard electronic termination NOT be used. Physical external
resistors should be used instead. In this case, utilizing RJ45 to open-style connector will make
termination easier.
NOTE:
%SR152 enables CAN port termination.
NOTE
: When powered down, the biasing and termination is no longer in effect.
