the effect has been deactivated. They are not
reset to the basic setting until the player is

5.11.4 Start-up / braking effect
This effect simulates a slow start-up and braking
of a turntable platter.
1) Keep the button TIME (15) pressed and turn
the jog wheel (9) clockwise to set a start-up
time between 0 and 6 seconds. The text line
(Q) shows the setting in tenths of a second
(START: 0 … 60).
2) To set the braking time (0 – 6 seconds), keep
the button TIME pressed while turning the jog
wheel counter-clockwise (BRAKE: 0 … 60).
3) When starting the replay with the button
(11), the title slowly starts according to the
start-up time adjusted.
4) If you set the player to pause with the button
while a title is replayed, the replay does
not stop immediately but it is braked until
standstill according to the braking time
adjusted.
5) To deactivate the effect, reset the start-up
time and the braking time to 0 seconds or
briefly switch off the player and switch it on
again.
Notes
1. An adjustment of the values for the start-up time
and the braking time is only possible in ascending
order from 0 – 60. The value 60 is followed by the
value 0 that deactivates the effect.
2. The button MASTER TEMPO (28) for constant pitch
also affects the start-up / braking effect (
chapter
5.9, step 5).
5.11.5 Droning effects
If the function Master Tempo (constant pitch)
has been activated [insertion MT (U) on the dis-
play], deactivate it with the button MASTER
TEMPO (28). Turn the jog wheel (9) back and
forth to increase or decrease the replay speed
alternately. This creates a droning effect.
5.11.6 Stutter effects
The Cue points stored with the buttons CUE (10)
and CUE 1 to CUE 3 (22) [
chapter 5.8] are
also suitable to create interesting stutter effects:
Briefly press one of these buttons repeatedly to
create a stutter effect. The more suitable the Cue
point (e. g. start of an instrument or beginning of
a word), the more impressive the effect.
5.11.7 Replaying a continuous loop
A certain section of a title can be repeated as a
seamless loop as many times as desired.
1) Press the button
(11) to start the replay.
When you have reached the desired starting
point of the loop (point a in fig. 4), briefly
press the button A (3).

To define the starting point with the precision
of 1 frame, first press the button
to set the player
to pause, precisely select the point with the jog
wheel (9), then press the button A.
2) When you have reached the desired end
of the section (point b in fig. 4) while the
replay is continued, press the button B / EDIT
(4). The section between the points is con -
tinuously repeated. As long as a continuous
loop is replayed, the display indicates
RELOOP (S).
3) To displace the end point or to define it with
the precision of 1 frame, press the button B /
EDIT while replaying the loop. The time indi-
cation (R) now shows the time index of the
end point. Turn the jog wheel (9) to displace
the end point and press the button B / EDIT to
confirm the end point.
4) It is also possible to divide the loop or to mul-
tiply it many times over. While replaying the
loop, press the button

Note:
As long as the three buttons A, B/EDIT and
RELOOP/EXIT are illuminated, it is possible to restart
the loop. The loop is deleted, e. g. when you switch
between CD and USB or when you switch off the player.

1) Keep the button MEMO (21) pressed and
turn the jog wheel (9) to adjust the length. The
length is indicated in the text line (Q), e. g.
“AUTO 2 / 1” = two beat lengths. After this
adjustment, the button MEMO is illuminated
to indicate that the end point of a section is
automatically set.
2) Press the button A (3) to define the starting
point. Thus, the replay of the loop is started at
the same time and the end point is set
according to the length adjustment.
3) It is also possible to change the length of the
section later, as described above (step 3
or 4).
5.12 Compiling your
personal title sequence
To replay only selected titles in a certain order, a
sequence of up to 99 titles can be programmed.
5.12.1 Storing and replaying a title sequence
1) If a title is replayed, first set the player to
pause with the button
(11).
2) Press the button PROG (25) to go to the pro-
gramming mode. The time indication (R) is
switched over to show the first storage loca-
tion “P- 01”. The insertion PROG (H) starts
flashing fast.
Note:
To exit this mode immediately, keep the but-
ton PROG pressed until the display shows the play-
ing time (R) again.
3) Select the first title to be stored with the button
or (7)
[
chapter 5.1, steps 4 and 5].
4) To confirm the title selection, press the button
PROG. The next storage location “P- 02” is
indicated.
5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all titles of the title
sequence have been stored. When 99 titles
have been stored and you try to store another
title, the message FULL appears.
6) To replay the title sequence, press the button
. The insertion PROG (H) flashes more
slowly. The titles are replayed according to the
operating mode selected (
chapter 5.4.1).
To select other titles of the title sequence,
press the button
or
(several times).
7) To return to the standard replay mode, press
the button
to set the player to pause and
keep the button PROG pressed until the
insertion PROG stops flashing.
To replay the title sequence once again,
set the player to pause and press the button
PROG so that the insertion PROG starts
flashing again. Press the button
to start
the title sequence.
Note:
As long as PROG is inserted or keeps flashing, it
is possible to activate the title sequence. It is deleted,
e. g. when you switch between CD and USB or when
you switch off the player.
5.12.2 Checking a title sequence
1) If a title is replayed, first set the player to
pause with the button
.
2) If the insertion PROG starts flashing, press
the button PROG once. If the insertion PROG
is displayed permanently, press the button
PROG twice.
3) Press the button

to select the storage
locations (P- 01 … P- 99) one after the other.
The title stored in each case is displayed in
the text line (Q).
4) To replay the title sequence, press the but-
ton
.
5.12.3 Completing or deleting
a title sequence
1) If a title is replayed, first set the player to
pause with the button

2) If the insertion PROG keeps flashing, keep
the button PROG pressed until PROG stops
flashing.
3) Briefly press the button PROG so that PROG
starts flashing fast and the time indication (R)
is switched over to show the next free storage
location “P- …”.
4) To delete the title sequence, either press the
button PROG until the display indicates the
playing time (R) again or to add another title,
select the title with the button

the modified title sequence, press the but-
