FUEL PUMP
PROBLEM
CAUSE
SOLUTION
Low pressure
at the nozzle
•
Motor-pump coupling not correct.
•
Spring pressure regulator broken.
•
Remove the pump, check if the joint is damaged. If ne-
cessary replace it.
•
Loosen pressure regulator screw, check spring integrity. If
necessary, replace it.
Low flow rate
at the nozzle
•
Water in the pump
•
Fuel with additives or polluted.
•
Nozzle filter dirty.
•
Nozzle blocked.
•
Solenoid valve blocked or dama-
ged.
•
Pressure regulator piston dama-
ged.
•
Pump body damaged.
•
Undersized pump.
•
Check that the pump is not sucking water from fuel tank
and that it is not already damaged.
•
Change fuel in the tank.
•
Remove nozzle and clean filter with compressed air.
•
Remove nozzle and clean orifice with compressed air. If
necessary, replace it.
•
Loosen the screw that tightens the coil to the solenoid
by 14 mm hexagonal key; supply coil and make sure it
remains secured to the valve due to the magnetic force
present; cut-out the power from the coil and remove it
from its housing; loosen the sleeve and check that the
inner core can slide freely; assure that the fuel flow is not
blocked.
•
Loosen pressure regulator screw, remove spring and pi-
ston inside the pump and then replace them
•
Replace the pump.
•
Check that the pressure and flow rate assured by the
pump are higher than that required. If is necessary place
the pump.
Unstable
pressure
•
Air infiltration in suction pipe.
•
Solenoid valve blocked or dama-
ged.
•
Water in the pump.
•
Fuel with additives or polluted.
•
Motor-pump coupling not correct.
•
Partial block of filters or suction
pipe.
•
Check that all connections are air-proof.
•
Loosen the screw that tightens the coil to the solenoid
by 14 mm hexagonal key; supply coil and make sure it
remains secured to the valve due to the magnetic force
present; cut-out the power from the coil and remove it
from its housing; loosen the sleeve and check that the
inner core can slide freely; assure that the fuel flow is not
blocked.
•
Check that the pump is not sucking water from fuel tank
and that it is not already damaged.
•
Change fuel in the tank.
•
Remove the pump, check if the joint is damaged. If ne-
cessary replace it.
•
Check the cartridge filter inside the pump by loosen the
screw with 4 mm hexagonal spanner, also check other fil-
ter inside the suction pipe.
