Installation and Servicing
SECTION 1 - GENERAL
1.10 TERMINAL
The terminal assembly can be adapted to accommodate various
wall thicknesses
(internal boilers only)
. Refer to Section 2.13.
1.11 AIR SUPPLY
It is NOT necessary to have a purpose-provided air vent in the
room or internal space in which the boiler is installed. Neither
is it necessary to ventilate a cupboard or compartment in which
the boiler is installed, due to the low surface temperatures of the
boiler casing during operation.
1.12 WATER CIRCULATION SYSTEM
IMPORTANT.
A minimum length of 1 metre of copper pipe MUST be fitted to both flow
and return connections from the boiler before connection to any plastic
piping.
WATER TREATMENT - see Section 1.20.
1.13 BOILER CONTROL INTERLOCKS
Central heating systems controls should be installed to ensure the
boiler is switched off when there is no demand for heating.
Heating systems utilising full thermostatic radiator valve control
of temperature in individual rooms should also be fitted with a
room thermostat controlling the temperature in a space served by
radiators not fitted with such a valve.
When thermostatic radiator valves are used, the space heating
temperature control over a living / dining area or hallway having
a heating requirement of at least 10% of the minimum boiler heat
output should be achieved using a room thermostat, whilst other
rooms are individually controlled by thermostatic radiator valves.
However, if the system employs thermostatic radiator valves on all
radiators, or two port valves, then a bypass circuit must be fitted
with an automatic bypass valve to ensure a flow of water should
all valves be in the closed position.
1.14 ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
WARNING.
Electrical safety of the appliance is reached only when it is
correctly connected to an efficient earthing system as specified by
current safety standards.
Attention:
Hunt Heating declines any responsibility for damage
or physical injury caused by failure to connect the boiler to an
efficient earth system or failure to comply with the reference
standards. Also ensure that the electrical installation corresponds
to maximum absorbed power specifications as shown on the
boiler data plate.
The boilers come complete with a 1.5 metre power cable that
includes an Australian electrowelded plug. The plug is of type I,
compliant with standard AS 3112.
The power cable must be connected to a 240V ±10% / 50Hz
mains respecting L-N polarity and the earth connection. When
replacing the power supply cable, contact a qualified technician
(e.g. Hunt Heating Service Dept) (Fig. 1-4).
For the main power supply to the appliance, never use adapters,
multiple sockets or extension leads.
1.15 CONDENSATE DRAIN
Refer to Sections 2.18, & 3.6
A condensate drain is provided on the boiler. This drain must be
connected to a drainage point on site. All pipework and fittings in
the condensate drainage system MUST be made of plastic -
no
other materials may be used.
Drainage must comply with national and local regulations ie
condensate must not be drained directly to storm water. If
suitable drainage point cannot be reached, condensate must be
neutralized via approved method as supplied by Hunt Heating.
IMPORTANT
Any external runs must be in accordance with AU/NZS 3500.
The drain outlet on the boiler is sized for standard 21.5mm (3/4”)
overflow pipe. It is a universal fitting to allow use of different
brands of pipework.
