If you cannot link to your switch:
1. Check the following LED lights on the adapter:
TX — On
The adapter is sending data.
RX — On
The adapter is receiving data.
Link — On
The adapter is connected to a valid link partner and is receiving link
pulses.
Link — Off
Link is inoperative.

Check all connections at the adapter and link partner.

Make sure that the link partner is set to 1000 Mbps and full-duplex.
v
Ensure that the required drivers are loaded.
PRO — Programmable LED
Identifies the adapter by blinking. Use the Identify Adapter push-button in
Intel PROSet II to control blinking.
2. Ensure that the cable is installed correctly. The network cable must be securely
attached at all connections. If the cable is attached but the problem persists, try a
different cable.
The appliance engine cannot
find the IBM Gigabit Ethernet
SX Server Adapter.
1. Verify that the adapter is seated firmly in the slot.
2. Try a different IBM Gigabit Ethernet SX Server Adapter.
