Completing the installation
Depending on the options that you have installed, you must reinstall the top cover
and the front bezel to complete the installation. You must also reconnect all the
cables that you disconnected in “Preparing to install options” on page 48, and, after
installing certain options, you must run the Configuration/Setup Utility program.
Follow the instructions in this section.
Installing the top cover
Notes:
1. The top cover is in place during normal operation. If the server is on, do not
leave the top cover off for more than 30 minutes at a time.
2. If necessary, see “Input/output connectors and expansion slots” on page 11 for
connector locations.
To install the server top cover:
1. Before installing the top cover, check that all cables, adapters, and other
components are installed and seated correctly and that you have not left tools
or loose parts inside the server.
2. Place the cover-release latch
1
in the open (up) position.
3. Insert the bottom tabs of the cover
2
in the matching slots in the server
chassis.
4. Close the cover-release latch to pull the cover forward and lock the cover in
place.
