After completing throttle cable adjust-
ment, check that throttle grip movement
does not raise the engine idle speed and
that the throttle grip return smoothly
and automatically.
CAUTION
Inadequate throttle cable play can cause
engine speed to rise suddenly when you
turn the throttle grip.
This can lead to loss of rider control.
Adjust the throttle cable play so that
engine idle speed does not rise due to
throttle grip movement.
WARNING
These motorcycles have a twin throttle
cable system. Cable
is for throttle cable
and cable is for returning cable.
To adjust the cable play :
1. Loosen the lock nut

2. Turn in the adjuster

fully.
3. Loosen the lock nut
③.
4. Turn the adjuster
④
so that the throttle
cable has 0.5 ~ 1.0 mm (0.02 ~ 0.04 in)
play.
5. Tighten the lock nut

while holding the
adjuster
④.
6. While holding the throttle grip at the
closed position turn out the adjuster

to
feel resistance.
7. Tighten the lock nut

while holding the
adjuster

IDLING ADJUSTMENT
Do not adjust the idle speed to avoid
variations of the cabruretion setting.
