Managing Remote Devices

About This Chapter

Through a Fibre Channel or iSCSI link, the local storage device sets up a logical channel with
the remote storage device for remote replication and data transmission between storage
devices. By managing the remote storage device in system view, the system administrator can
create remote links for data transmission between storage systems. Only the system
administrator can manage the remote storage device in system view.

8.1 Viewing Remote Device Information

This operation enables you to view the information about remote storage devices.

8.2 Modifying Remote Device Information

This operation enables you to change the information of a replicated remote device.

8.3 Modifying the Advanced Properties of a Remote Link

This operation enables you to modify the bandwidth and bandwidth utilization of a link.

8.4 Deleting a Remote Link

This operation enables you to remove unwanted links between a local storage device and a
remote storage device.

8.5 Removing a Remote Device

This operation enables you to remove unwanted remote storage devices.

8.1 Viewing Remote Device Information

This operation enables you to view the information about remote storage devices.
