System
commissioning
process
Installed system test
Place a zone in test mode and then carry out tests to check the
system Cause and Effect in accordance with the recommendations
of BS5839:Part 1 and also in accordance with project requirements.
Repeat the test for other zones if used. Test:
– Fire sensors
– Interface units
Prior to functional test ensure the I/O circuits remain isolated.
After functional test reconnect the I/O circuits and where
appropriate test the I/O circuits to project recommendations.
Repeat indicator panel
Check events are displayed and indicated.
–
– Fire relay
Check the relay operates and the connected external equipment
are tested.
– Connect Master alarms
Check the alarms operate in the event of fire. If master alarms are
not used then ensure the EOL components are fitted.
– Connect the Class Change switch input, if used
Check the configured sectors operate to site requirements.
– Connect the Evacuate input switch wiring
Check the alarms operate and can be silenced and reset.
Final changes to the configuration
Use the panel menu options to make minor adjustments to the system
configuration and then back up the work. All major changes to the
configuration must be done using the commissioning tool.
Configuring the system using the Nano Commissioning Tool
Configure the system to site specific requirement using the
Nano Commissioning tool, see the Nano Commissioning tool user
instructions.
Where the Nano system has interface units on the loop it is
very important to configure the system using the
Nano commissioning tool.
Beam Sensor alignment
If there are beam sensors on the loop then commission the beam
pair using the alignment and autogain function at the panel.
Transmit the configured system to the Nano panel
Connect the commissioning tool to the Nano panel and transmit the
system configuration.
PIN Codes
Change the user PIN codes to site specific needs and inform the
new codes to the respective users.
Configuration data file
Ensure site file held at the commissioning tool is the same as the
one held at the panel for future reference and for traceability.
Retrieve the device data to Commissioning tool
Connect the commissioning tool and retrieve the system device data.
Backup
Back-up the system loop address allocation data to the panel memory.
Regularly back-up the configuration data during
commissioning, do this every 15 minutes to ensure changes
made to the configuration are not lost.
Loop wiring tests
Carry out tests on the loop wiring by introducing open and short
circuit wiring faults. Ensure the panel provides an indication of each
fault. Run the ‘Repair’ function at the panel after each fault removal.
