7.3 Restarting after an extended period of storage
Before restarting the machine, clean it of dust and oil deposits. Then carry out the necessary maintenance actions
(see “Maintenance”). Check that the mechanical shaft seal is in good order and working properly. Once this work
has been completed, the machine can be installed (see “Installation”) and connected to the electricity supply by a
specialist. See “Start-up” for instructions on restarting.
Only restart the machine if it is in perfect condition and ready for operation.
8. Troubleshooting
The following points must be taken into account to avoid personal and material damage when troubleshooting
machine failures:

Correct a failure only if you have qualified staff, i.e. the individual work must be carried out by
trained specialist personnel, e.g. electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Always prevent the machine from unintentional restart by disconnection it from the power supply.
Take appropriate precautionary measures.

Ensure the safety shut-down of the machinery by a second person at all times.

Safeguard mobile machinery parts to prevent injuries.

Unauthorized changes on the machinery are at own risk and discharge the manufacturer from any
liability!
The machine does not start

Mains voltage is missing Check voltage
Defective capacitor Check capacitor, replace if appropriate
Blade wheel blocked Send pump for repair to works after-sales service
The delivery rate is too low, or the delivery head has not been reached
Cause Remedy
Voltage drop Check voltage
Loss of water by leaky pressure line Seal pressure line again
Delivery head was incorrectly defined Determine delivery head again, replace pump if
appropriate
Suction filter or carrying frame used is blocked by
contamination Remove pump and/or carrying frame from conveyed
medium and clean
Motor protection triggers after short running time
Cause Remedy
Current consumption too high, voltage too low Send pump for repair to works after-sales service, the
winding may have to be renewed
Blade wheel blocked Switch machine off and secure it against being switched
on again, ensure free movement of the blade
wheel/propellers
