Cleaning and care

•

If necessary, clean the vehicle with water and a soft sponge or soft brush.

•

The Gates Carbon Drive Belt is also cleaned with water and does not need to be

lubricated.

The contacts of the battery and the battery holder on the frame can be wiped with a

damp cloth. Wait until the contacts are dry before reattaching the battery.

A high-speed jet of water can cause damage to the bear

ings, enviolo/Rohloff hub, Bosch battery, motor and display.

-> Only use a weak garden hose that provides a slow jet of water and do

not point it on the components listed above.
Oil or spray wax that gets onto the brake discs or pads makes the braking

effect worse.

-> Prevent the spray wax or oil from coming into contact with the brake

discs or pads!

Transporting on a car

To avoid damage caused by transporting the vehicle on the outside of a car, observe

the following instructions:

The battery can become loose when the vehicle is being transported on

a car roof and poses a risk to other road users.

-> Remove the battery and any non-bolted accessories from your vehicle

before transporting it on a car on a rear or roof rack.

If you transport your HNF-NICOLAI on a car in the rain and at high speeds,

water can get into the enviolo/Rohloff hub, the Bosch drive unit, battery

and display.

-> Remove the battery and display

-> Use a protective cover for the vehicle, covering the hub and drive unit.
The weight of the vehicle places increased demands on the rear or roof

rack of a car. Unsuitable bike racks can break during the journey or may not

be completely safe for your vehicle.

-> Check the potential roof load in the car's operating manual and the

bearing load in the car's bike rack manual.
