6.7.4. Kettenverschleiß prüfen

Wir empfehlen, die Kette regelmäßig bei mittlerem Verschleiß auszutauschen, um

die Lebensdauer von Kettenblatt und Kassette zu erhöhen. Dafür können Sie z.B.

dasShimano Kettenmesswerkzeug TL-CN42 benutzen.

6.8.

Brakes

As it is a hydraulic braking system, your maintenance options are limited. Work on

the hydraulics should be carried out by HNF-NICOLAI Service or a specialist work

shop. In any case, please contact HNF-NICOLAI Service if the pressure point of the

brakes fluctuates.

6.8.1. Brake pad and brake disc wear

Brake pads and brake discs are subject to functional wear caused by friction

between the two parts. The wear depends on the riding style, terrain, weather and

ground conditions, meaning that no binding information can be given regarding the

brake pads.

Brake discs need to be replaced after approx. 4 to 5 changes of brake pad pairs,

as they are made of a harder material. It is recommended to check the brake pads

every 500 km.

6.8.2. Checking the brake pads

The brake pads must be replaced when they

•

are only 2.5 mm thick (height of carrier plate and friction lining)

•

come into contact with oil (leads to low braking power)
