6.3 Deflecting base Replacement Procedure
When the LED protection glass is damaged or when the deflection base is extremely
dirty and cannot be rid of the abnormality even after cleaning, it is necessary to replace
the deflection base. Perform it by using the following procedure.
(1) Depressurize the printer.
(2) Remove all of the covers described in the item 6.1.
(3) Unscrew the nozzle setscrew, the deflecting electrode setscrew and the charged
electrode feed screw on the surface of the deflecting base.
(4) Unscrew the APH sensor setscrews, high-voltage electrical power lines setscrews,
the charged electrode feed screw and high-voltage GND screw on the rear side of
the head base.
The setscrews of the high-voltage electrical power lines are coated with silicon
rubber. Unscrew the screws by breaking the coating by a driver or the like.
(5) Remove the deflecting base by unloosening the deflecting base setscrew and
replace it with a new one.
