Embedded UEFI Shell
Use this option to enable or disable the
Embedded UEFI Shell
, a pre-boot command-line environment for
scripting and running UEFI applications, including UEFI boot loaders. The
Embedded UEFI Shell
also
provides CLI-based commands you can use to obtain system information, and to configure and update
the system BIOS. When enabled, and Add Embedded UEFI Shell to Boot Order is enabled, the
Embedded UEFI Shell
is added to the
UEFI Boot Order
list.

Enabling or disabling the Embedded UEFI Shell
Use the
Embedded UEFI Shell
option to enable or disable the pre-boot command-line environment for
scripting and running UEFI applications, including UEFI boot loaders. The Embedded UEFI Shell also
provides CLI-based commands you can use to obtain system information, and to configure and update
the system BIOS. When enabled, and
Add Embedded UEFI Shell to Boot Order
is enabled, the
Embedded UEFI Shell is added to the UEFI Boot Order list.
Procedure
1.
From the
System Utilities
screen, select
System Configuration
>
BIOS/Platform Configuration
(RBSU)
>
Embedded UEFI Shell
>
Embedded UEFI Shell
.
2.
Select a setting.
•
Enabled
—Enables you to launch the
Embedded UEFI Shell
from the pre-boot environment and
add it to the
UEFI Boot Order
list.
•
Disabled
—The
Embedded UEFI Shell
is not available in the pre-boot environment and you
cannot add it to the
UEFI Boot Order
list.
3.
Save your setting.
Add Embedded UEFI Shell to Boot Order
Use this option to add the
Embedded UEFI Shell
as an entry in the
UEFI Boot Order
list on the next
reboot of the server.
