Connect a known good high limit control into wiring for the suspect
thermocouple and control.

Connect electrical power and operate vat. If vat does not overheat, replace
defective control with known good part.

If vat overheats, perform more checkouts of other components (relays,
contactors, probes, etc.) and replace the heating element as the last resort.

Tag and remove lead wires to module.

Using 3/8 inch socket, remove two nuts securing control to panel.

Install a new control in reverse order.

The fryers are equipped with as few as two heating elements or as many as eight
elements. If one of the small elements in the middle needs replacement, one or two of
the elements must also be removed to gain access to the faulty element.
