2. Limit and In-Range status LEDs are included on the dual thermocouple solid state high limit. Table 3 provides a
definition for using the LEDs as diagnostic indicators relating to the high limit status and possible causes.
3. If the fryer has two solid state high limit controls per vat, either SSHL control may be open causing the fryer
main control panel to display an E-10 error. Use voltage measurements and the SSHL LED indicators to
determine which high limit control relay (A) is open.
Other E-10 high limit issues
See Table 6 LED status for other possible errors and possible causes.
Additional dual thermocouple high limit changes for LVE, GVE, KVE, MVE, LVG and EEG
LVG 20X / EEG 2XX and 16x
Split vat LVG and EEG now have two high limit reset switches. There is one for the left vat and one for the right vat.
Full vat units have a single high limit reset switch.

The following are additional differences as seen for full and split vat units.
•
Full vat units
continue to use the same J-type thermocouples: one mounted on the left element of the
assembly and the other mounted on the right element of the assembly. The part number for the
replacement high limit thermocouple and the heating element remains the same for units built before
December 2020 and units built from December 2020 and after. However, the high limit control and reset
switch part numbers change. Since the new high limit control is a dual thermocouple control only a single
high limit control is needed for full vat units: one thermocouple is wired to (D) and the other to (E) in
Figure 2. Units built prior to December 2020 with single thermocouple high limits required two controls.
•
Split vat units
use a dual J-type thermocouple assembly mounted to the heating element. The
replacement high limit thermocouple, high limit control, reset switch and the heating element for split vat
units are new. The configuration for the high limit reset switch bank is also new since a separate reset
switch is now required for each split vat. Below are some examples of high limit reset switch
configurations:
