New Style Reject Load Detector Calibration
STEP 1
Loosen the thumbscrews holding the reject load heatsinks in place. The
detectors are located behind the 2nd and 3rd heatsinks from the top. The
heatsink will basically just lean out and hang by the large coaxial cables
coming from the circulators as shown in Figure 5-6.
STEP 2
Select a cable (with adaptors if necessary) that will allow a direct
connection from the CD-1A or APEX exciter SMA output to the
detector input to be calibrated.
STEP 3
First, set the exciter power to zero. Connect one end of the cable to the
exciter and the other end to the power sensor on the digital power meter.
STEP 4
Increase the exciter output until the digital power meter reads 50mW.
This will remove the effect of any line loss in the cable and assure
50mW is actually being applied to the detector.

STEP 5
Move the cable from the power sensor to the detector input to be
calibrated. See Figure 5-6. An SMA barrel will most likely be needed.
STEP 6
Go to the screen shown in Figure 5-5. It is under Main Menu,
Maintenance, Calibrate Meter, Reject Load Calibrations. With 50mW
applied to the detector input, the GUI reading for that detector should be
4V (+/- 0.5V) and 100% as shown for the selected detector #1. If both
readings are OK, move the cable to the next detector. If the detector
