Section 5 Maintenance and Alignments
Diamond Series™
NOTE:
If the voltage drops to zero while you are attempting to calibrate, the cabinet's RF
power has probably turned off (as per the 2 minute door timer). If that happens,
close the cabinet door, press the transmitter On button, then open the cabinet door
and resume calibration (does not apply to Control Cabinet).
STEP 3
Verify approximately 4Vdc appears on the GUI Power
Calibrations screen for the stage you are calibrating.
STEP 4
Press the FWD button for the stage you are calibrating.
STEP 5
Using the INCREASE/DECREASE and FAST/SLOW
buttons, change the power reading on the calibration screen to equal the
measured output power from STEP 1. Note that this does not change the
voltage reading into the GUI.
STEP 6
To save this new calibration factor, you must press “Save Data” (the
"Calibrate Meter" button is a back button to the previous screen).
STEP 7
If the detector was adjusted, be sure to return JP1 to the normal position,
pins 1-2 and secure the rf detector to finish the procedure.
5.5.2
Reflected Power Calibration
This calibration is done basically the same as the Forward Power Calibration, however
it uses the Forward Power sample with a 10dB pad inserted in the line (the 10dB pad is
stored in a holder in the back of the Control Cabinet). This will calibrate the reflected
metering to 10% of the forward power. Use the following procedure to calibrate the rf
detectors and the GUI metering of PA Cabinet reflected power and the Total System
reflected power.
STEP 1
Calibrate the forward power first since this sample will be used with the
10dB pad for the reflected calibration.
STEP 2
Note the forward power output of the stage to be calibrated. You will be
setting the reflected power to 10% of this value.
STEP 3
Go to the Power Calibrations screen (Figure 5-3) on the
GUI and press the RFLD button (shown at right) for the
stage you are calibrating. After pressing this button, the
VSWR overload is disabled for 10 minutes to allow
adjustment. When you change screens, the overload disable
will be removed immediately.
STEP 4
At the directional coupler, use the 10dB test pad supplied (located in the
back of the control cabinet). Connect the REFLECTED Cable to the
FORWARD POWER directional coupler using the 10 dB pad.
