The position of the boom tips should be checked occasionally to see, if
they are pointing forward relative to the boom centre. After many hours
of spraying in the field, the boom will tend to position itself further and
further backwards when unfolded due to wear.
Position Check
One boom wing at a time is adjusted.
1.
Park the tractor and sprayer. Activate the handbrake.
2.
Unfold the spray boom completely and turn off the tractor engine.
3.
Stand near the boom centre.
Look across to the opposite boom tip (A) while aligning the sides
(facing towards the main tank) of the two vertical boom structures
(B) and (C).
The boom tip should be just visible, if correctly adjusted.
4.
If you do not see the boom tip, or you see the most of the boom wing, go to step 5 for adjustment.
Adjustment
The black disc (D) is positioned to impact the boom structure and stop the boom movement, when the boom wing moves
backwards. On the opposite side of the boom structure, an identical disc stops the forward movement.
5.
Loosen the counternut (F).
6.
Adjust the threaded pin (E) in or out by turning with an Allen key
to bring the boom wing to the correct position.
7.
Adjust the other disc equally the opposite way.
8.
Tighten the counternuts after adjustment.
9.
Repeat step 3.
Vertical alignment of the outer wing and breakaway
1.
Loosen the lock nuts (A) and (B).
2.
Turn the thread rod (C) to adjust the breakaway.
3.
Tighten the lock nuts (A) and (B) again.
