TLC2100SHD Operating Instructions

When the recorder is in 00 speed and detects a one-shot signal, it records 2, 4, 6, or 8
fields at the 48-hour speed in the normal mode or at the 120-hour speed in the HD
mode (the amount of fields recorded are selectable in the System Options menu. See
System Options Submenu
on page
30
for more information). When there is no one-shot
input at 00 speed, the unit records the selected amount of fields in the 48-hour mode
every 3 minutes. For example, if no one-shot recordings were made and 6 fields were
selected, this would result in a record time of 150 days with a T-120 tape. However, it
is not recommended to leave the recorder in 00 speed for long periods, as excessive
head wear may result.
If the video source is other than a camera—for example a multiplexer, quad, or
transmission device—ensure the device is in the proper mode to allow video to come
through the recorder. Check your device’s operating instructions for additional
information.
Alarm Index Operation
The Alarm Index allows the user to search the video tape for the next occurrence of an
alarm on the tape.
To activate Alarm Index:
1.
Press the ALARM INDEX button (#25, see
Figure 2-14
). The Index Annunciator
on the VCR display will light.
2.
Press PLAY, then F.FWD/SEARCH (or REW/SEARCH). The unit will
perform a fast forward search (or reverse search) until the next occurrence of an
alarm is found. The unit will then automatically enter the PLAY mode at whatever
playback speed has been previously selected.
3.
To search for the next alarm occurrence, simply press F.FWD/SEARCH (or
REW/SEARCH).
Note
If too few fields of an alarm have been recorded, the unit may overshoot the
alarm recording. However, the unit will still drop into the PLAY mode when
it recognizes the alarm. If this occurs, press REVERSE PLAY (#12).
Note The Alarm Index
search operates with
recordings made in
normal mode at the 2-,
18-, and 24-hour speeds
and in HD mode at the 6-,
18-, and 30-hour speeds.
We recommend that at
least one minute of an
alarm be recorded with
the 18- and 24-hour
speeds.
