APPENDIX C: WARNING CODES
Digital Display
Codes
An "Error" annunciator in the Digital Display will be displayed for the following events:
•Error 1 - Cylinder Lock
•Error 2 - Mecha Lock-1
•Error 3 - Mecha Lock-2
•Error 4 - Reel Lock-1
•Error 5 - Reel Lock-2
The Warning Data may be displayed on the monitor by first displaying the Main Menu
and then pressing STOP, DOWN and H-POS. A typical Warning Data line will be
displayed as followed:

• The leftmost column displays the number of times the failure occurred. A "1"
means once, a "0" means twice. A line will record only one or two failures. In the
example above, the failure occurred once. The system will not go into the error
mode unless it gets the same error twice.
• Moving to the right, the next two columns display the number of event (from 0 to
99). The display will list the first warning and the last eight warnings. In the
example above, "21" is the 21st event.
• Moving to the right, the next six columns display the date on which the warning
occurred. In the example above, the date is September 12, 1997 (09/12/97).
• Moving to the right, the next six columns display the time in a 24-hour format
(hours-minutes-seconds). In the example above, the time is 1:34:45PM.
• Moving to the right, the next two columns display the Warning Data code (see
chart on next page for explanation of the codes). In the example above, these
column display "CY". As listed in the Warning Data chart below, "CY" stands for
Cylinder Lock.
• Moving to the right, the next two columns display the Status Code (see chart on
next page for explanation of the codes). In the example above, these column
display "RD". As listed in the Status chart below, "RD" stands for REC (Record).
In other words, the warning occurred while in RECORD mode.
• Moving to the right, the next column displays the Tape Speed Code (see chart on
next page for explanation of the codes). In the example above, this column
displays "2". As listed in the Tape Speed chart below, "2" stands for A24.
• The rightmost column displays the Tape Position Code (see chart on next page for
explanation of the codes). In the example above, this column displays "1". As
listed in the Tape Speed chart, "1" stands for 1/7. This means the warning
occurred in the last 1/7 of the tape.
