APPENDIX E: TROUBLESHOOTING
Verify AC Power. Is the unit plugged in?
Internal fuse may be blown. Have fuse checked
by qualified service technician.
Check monitor/camera adjustments,
cable connections and 75ý termination on monitor
Check that Time/Date is turned on and check
settings in Time/Date submenu.
Check the V-POS control: display may be
positioned 'off-screen'.
If using a multiplexer, quad or switcher, check
that video on monitor is from VCR.
Verify that VCR In & VCR Out connections are
correct. Connect camera directly to monitor to
insure video is present.
Same as above (video not necessary
to display Time/Date stamp).
Adjust Tracking & Sharpness Controls
Video cassette may need replacing
Is Azimuth Sw set to "Normal" in System
Options menu
Check Head and Total Usage Hours in System
Data menu. If greater than 8000, the unit may
need servicing
Is power switched on?
Check if "Tape End" is lit on the Digital Display.
If so, eject tape and reinsert.
Check if "Error" is lit on the Digital Display.
If so, check warning codes.
Check if "Lock" is lit on the Digital Display.
Deactivate Lock mode or contact supervisor.
Press Alarm Reset button. "PL" indicates a
Power Loss
TIMER menu may not have been set properly
Was Timer button pressed after programming?
Verify by checking if "T" displayed in Time/
Date stamp and "Timer" is lit in the Digital Dis-
play
Tape length may have been exceeded

Poor picture on monitor
in RECORD or STOP mode
