5.5.1.2.2 Action
Add an action to the rule that will be triggered by the event. You can add a new action or if you
have previously created an action, a
Copy Existing Action
option will also be displayed with
a dropdown list of available actions. If creating a new action, there are three different types to
choose from, which are explained below. More than one action can be associated to an alarm
rule and can be added to the rule here.
5.5.1.2.3 Action Name
Set an easily identifiable action name. The purpose of creating this name is so it is visible in the
Alarm Rules summary table that you can easily select the same action again in the future when
creating new alarm rules via the
Copy Existing Action
option. This field is required to create
the Rule.
5.5.1.2.4 Action Type
Three action types are available to choose from. Select the response that will occur once this
rule is triggered. The options are:
1) Send an email - Email Action will send a notifying email.
2) Record to the MicroSD card - Recording Action will record to the MicroSD Card for a user-
defined period.
3) Activate Hardware output - Hardware Output (Outdoor Plus version of camera required) will
activate a hardware device attached to the hardware I/O.
