Choosing
“4” in the screen of Fig. 6-14 can cancel the testing mode of one zone or all
zones. After the testing mode is cancelled, the fire alarm message from the zone will be
automatically cleared.

6.2.8 Disable/Enable
Choosing “8” on the screen in Fig. 6-1 will access disable/enable menu. These
operations are used for faulty field devices that are not able to be repaired in time. In
such cases, they are to be disabled temporarily and re-enabled after the problems are
resolved.
Disable/Enable operation is available for addressable devices, zones and loop
sounders. The devices can be disabled either by code or by address. Local output ports
can also be regarded as addressable devices by setting their zone number and device
number as
“0”. The disablement/enablement of loop sounders can only be carried out
through entry 4 of the screen shown in Fig. 6-18. And the sounders can only be
disabled/enabled as a whole rather than separately. In the following paragraphs,
operation on addressable devices will be demonstrated as an example.
