6.9 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Dry battery (where applicable):
Check fixing and smear the battery terminals with Vaseline grease. Keep the
battery clean and store it in a dry place if it is to remain unused for a long period
of time. This type of battery needs no particular maintenance. Do not leave it
powered for more than 24 hours if it needs recharging.
- Liquid battery (where applicable):
Check the level of the electrolyte. It must cover the battery elements. If
necessary, top up with distilled water with the engine off. This operation must be
carried out well away from naked flames. Check fixing and smear the battery
terminals with Vaseline grease. Keep the battery clean and store it in a dry place
if it is to remain unused for a long period of time.
- Clogging gauge of the engine air filter
Check that the clogging gauge of the engine air filter is in the correct position
and, if it is serviced, make sure that it is correctly assembled and protected
against the outdoor weather conditions as indicated in fig. 31.
It is essential for the cable connecting to the electrical system of the machine N°
1 fig. 31 to come out of the lower part of the actual gauge itself. The engine air
intake circuit could be seriously damaged if the protection is installed in the
wrong position.
- Fuses
Eliminate the cause that led to the short-circuit before replacing a fuse. The
fuses protect the following functions (fig.28):
A = Rh – Lh driving beam – and driving beam indicator light (15A)
B = Driving beam blinker, hazard switch power supply (10A)
C = Horn and 7-pin socket power supply (15A)
D = Auxiliary power socket (20A)
E = Rh front – Lh rear side lights, 7-pin socket, license plate light and control
panel lighting (7.5A)
F = Lh front – Rh rear side lights and 7-pin socket (7.5A)
G = 4WD switch, parking brake, hazard light power supply (7.5 A)
H = 4WD relay power supply (7.5A)
I = Lh dipped beam (10A)
L = Rh dipped beam (10A)
M = PTO and diff lock solenoid valve power supply (15A)
N = Alternator energizing (10A)
