Troubleshooting Steps
Passport Display Messages
The following are checklists of actions that can help resolve Passport system issues.
Note: The following steps are based on an assumption that all clients are exhibiting the same
symptom.
Single Fueling Position Offline
If one dispenser is not communicating with the POS, try the following steps until the problem
is resolved.
Note: These steps are not in sequential order.
• Verify proper CPC programming at the Passport Manager Workstation.
• Stop/Start the Passport system on the Passport server.
• Reset the Dispenser Hub.
• Check loopback connection on the pump D-Box Board.
• Check loopback connection on the CAT D-Box Board.
• Cycle power at CAT and/or dispenser or power fail.
• Cycle power at CPC D-Box or power fail.
• Verify dispenser ID.
Note: This requires knowledge of servicing competitive devices and dispensers.
• Swap dispenser IDs.

All Fueling Positions Offline
If all the dispensers are not communicating with the Passport system, try the following steps
until the problem is resolved.
Note: These steps are not in sequential order.
• Check power to the fueling positions.
• Verify proper Dispenser Hub operation.
• Check for communication to Dispenser Hub through the LAN.
• Check pump loop LEDs for proper operation (refer to
“Troubleshooting Dispenser Hub
).
• Verify proper Dispenser Hub address in System Maintenance Toolbar.
• Verify communication to router.
• Reset the Dispenser Hub.
• Verify proper CPC programming at the Passport Manager Workstation.
• Check cable connectivity from the Dispenser Hub to CPC D-Box.
• Reset Dispenser Hub.
• Check power to CPC D-Box to see if voltage is present.
• Check if all unused loopback connections on the CPC D-Box Wayne CAT Board are cut
and wire nutted, if required.
• Check polarity of field wiring connections and ensure that wiring is not swapped between
CATs and dispensers.
• Verify if pump CPC D-Box Board is jumpered for a 34 mA loop (JP10).
• When you are using a PA0338xxxx CPC D-Box, verify if JP11 and JP13 are in the “IN”
position.
• Check if any of the LEDs [CR35 (reverse loop), CR36 (receive) or CR37 (transmit)] are
lit.
