Connecting TRAC Controller Field Wiring
The Wayne TRAC Controller has a pair of data wires (positive and negative) used for RS-485
communication. These wires must be connected to a dedicated channel on P106, P107, P108,
or P109 of the T20488-G2 Distribution Board. This means that no CATs may be wired to this
specific channel on any remaining connectors once a TRAC controller is in use (for example,
if a TRAC controller is wired to the first channel on P106, then the first channel on P107, P108
and P109 cannot be used for communication to any other devices). Data pairs cannot be shared
between a TRAC controller and other electronics. Daisy-chaining is also not allowed.
Failure to follow the wiring methods described above will result in communication problems
with the CATs.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Connecting DSM Field Wiring
The Wayne DSM contains a pair of data wires (positive and negative) used for RS-485
communication. These wires must be connected to a channel on P106, P107, P108, or P109 of
the T20488-G2 Distribution Board. Data pairs cannot be shared between a DSM and other
electronics. Daisy-chaining is also not allowed.
See
for an example of connecting field wiring to the R19263-G1 Pigtail Cable
assembly.
Connecting the TED Field Wiring
The Tokheim TED contains a pair of data wires used for RS-485 communication. These wires
must be connected to a channel on P106, P107, P108, or P109 of the T20488-G2 Distribution
Board. When a site has a TED installed, the TED then connects to the DPTs such that the
Passport system communicates to the TED, which then communicates to the DPTs.
