Verify Software Versions
Before you begin the troubleshooting steps, verify if the Passport system meets the minimum
software requirements for CPC:
• V4.03 or later
• If you are using V4.03.31.05, the latest available service pack must be installed.
Communication Issues - Checklist
The following list details installation concerns that may negatively affect communication at
Passport system locations that use CPC. When troubleshooting communication issues, these
items must be investigated, in addition to following the procedures provided for specific
communication related issues.
Indoor Verification
Is the Distribution Box on the same electrical phase as the POS?
This is a Gilbarco installation requirement. If the distribution box is installed on a separate
electrical phase, then the communication from the POS to forecourt may be affected by
electrical noise.
Is the Distribution Box on the same electrical phase as the Competitive
dispensers?
This is also a Gilbarco installation requirement. If the dispensers are on a different electrical
phase when compared to the POS, there may be variances that introduce electrical noise. This
will negatively impact communication.
