4.7.5 Multicast

The multicast provides a mechanism for sending a single video and audio stream to a
group of hosts. Only the hosts that have joined a multicast group can send and receive the
multicast streams. The multicast streams are only sent to hosts on a local network.
This configuration page provides two settings. One is to allow the GV-Video Server to join
a multicast group. The other is to allow the GV-Video Server to receive audio broadcasting
from other hosts in a multicast group.

Multicast Host Name:
Name the GV-Video Server in a multicast group.
Multicast Info Update Period:
Set the time length between each update of multicast
streams.
Multicast Data IP:
Type the IP address used for multicasting. The default IP address
is 224.1.1.2.
Multicast Data Port:
Type the port used for multicasting. The default value is 8300.
Multicast Video:
Select the camera to send its video through multicasting.
