FROTHING MILK
WARNING:
The steam wand and the attachment are very hot after use for some
time. Always check first that these components have cooled down before you touch
these.
This espresso machine is equipped with a swiveling steam wand and a black attach-
ment for frothing milk. This allows you to quickly and easily produce milk foam. If
you need only a little milk foam, than remove the attachment and use only the steam
wand for frothing the milk.
REMOVING THE ATTACHMENT
Make sure first, that this part has cooled down. Then pull the attachment gently down-
ward from the steam wand. Rotate the attachment during process slightly back and
forth.
REPLACING THE ATTACHMENT
Insert the attachment with the narrow end onto the steam wand and push upwards to
the top until it clicks into place. The attachment should not wobble or fall off. Rotate
the attachment during the process might slightly back and forth.
Note:
The attachment has two resistors inside and is placed properly, when you have pus-
hed the attachment for snapping up over the first resistance onto the steam wand.
The steam wand should be located only in the narrow part of the attachment and
must not protrude from the top down.
USING THE STEAM FUNCTION
The heating indicator lights up when you set the selector switch to the steam position.
Note: Make sure before each use that the selection switch is positioned to ›standby‹-
position (middle). If the selector switch is positioned to the right (in brewing position),
after preheating, hot water emerges from the group head. If the selector switch is
positioned to the left (steam/hot water), hot steam or hot water (depending on the
setting) emerges from the steam wand. Important: Make sure that the black folding
switch is in the correct position: steam or hot water.
