is on the steam or hot water position. Place a suitable container under the steam
wand before you turn the selector switch into the steam or hot water position.
1. Make sure that there is sufficient water in the water tank (between the MIN and
MAX marks).
2. Press the ›on/off‹-switch and turn on the appliance.
3. Turn the black folding switch to the steam position.
4. Fill the stainless steel frothing jug about 1/3 with fresh cold milk.
Note:
The best results are obtained with reduced-fat fresh milk.
5. Turn the selector switch to the left into the ›steam‹-position. The heating indicator
lights up. The thermoblock is heated to produce steam. The process takes about
30 seconds. Swirl the tip of the steam wand over the drip tray. When only steam
and no water droplets are coming out of the steam wand, turn the selector switch
to the middle into the standby position.
Note:
Initially a few drops of water may emerge from the steam wand. For this reason,
the steam wand should be directed initially to the drip tray. The remaining water
that is in the system is thus flushed out of the steam wand.
6. Now hold the milk frothing jug under the steam wand and immerse the tip of the
steam wand approximately 10 mm into the milk. Now turn the selector switch
back counterclockwise to the ›steam‹-position. Water steam escapes from the
steam waned and the frothingstarts.
Note:
If steam is already leaking from the steam wand and the steam wand is not
immersed into the milk, then the escaping steam could spray the milk from the
frothing jug.
7. Hold the attachment for frothing to the edge of the frothing jug. Through the
escaping steam, the milk moves in a circle through the cup.
Note:
During the steaming process, the steam indicatior lights up. The thermoblock is hea-
ted to maintain a constant temperature and continue to steam production.
WARNING:
From the steam wand and the attachment hot steam escapes, and
these components are very hot. Always be sure not to scald at the hot steam. Never
