ASSEMBLING THE APPLIANCE
1. Place the filter basket on the filter support and turn the filter basket until it slides
down in the filter support. Turn the filter basket clockwise, until it locks perceptibly
on the filter support. The filter basket must be fixed firmly on the filter support.
2. Close the filter basket via the filter cover with the handle of the filter cover lying
on the handle of the filter basket.
3. Ensure that the silicone seal on top of the riser pipe is clean and in proper wor-
king order (without any cracks, tears, worn out areas, or deformations).
WARNING:
The silicone seal holds the brewing arm in position and proofs
the brewing arm against the riser pipe. With the silicone seal damaged, hot water
could splash out of the riser pipe during operation.
Do not operate the appliance
with the silicone seal damaged.
4. With the outlet openings facing downwards and the large inlet opening on the
riser pipe in the centre of the water tank, place the brewing arm onto the filter
cover. Then press the brewing arm down on the riser pipe. There may be no gap
between the brewing arm and the riser pipe.
5. Place the water tank lid onto the water tank. The water tank lid must fit evenly on
the rim of the water tank. If not, turn the water tank lid into the correct orientation.
6. Place the carafe lid onto the carafe and press the carafe lid down until it enga-
ges on the carafe. Place the carafe onto the warming plate.
DESCALING
WARNING:
After descaling, the descaling solution in the carafe is very hot.
Do not aspirate the vapour of any type of descaling solution, to avoid severe inju-
ries to your respiratory tracts. Ensure good ventilation and avoid spilling the desca-
ling solution to avoid scalds and damage.
Depending on the water hardness of your tap water, you should descale the cof-
fee machine regularly using a descaling solution suitable for Coffee Machines. For
our machines, we recommend to use the Gastroback Premium Descaler (Art.- No.:
98175), containing special additives for preserving the metal surfaces thus maintai-
ning high performance of our machines. Mix 60 ml of the Gastroback Premium Des-
caler with up to 1200 ml of clear water. Do not use any corrosive chemicals as these
could damage the metal and seals of the machine. For further information feel free to
